ABOUT

Jensin Okunishi Studio is a custom rug studio celebrating colorful contemporary design and quality craftsmanship, that offers an escape from the ordinary using the immersive qualities of color. Founded by Jensin Okunishi in Japan of 2019, the studio has since moved to Atlanta, although Okunishi still resides in both the US and Japan.

Okunishi has worked with interior designers in Tokyo and New York and has been featured in COVER magazine, Business Of Home, and has exhibited at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF). She looks forward to her continued collaboration with artisans around the world and merging time-honored traditional crafts with contemporary design. She is a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design, where she studied Textile Design and has been the recipient of the Amber Grant Business Grant for Women.

 

The wellbeing of Jensin Okunishi Studio's partners and the communities it touches is important to Okunishi. Since it's founding, the studio has been a certified Good Weave member and continues to work with its partners towards more environmentally sustainable practices each year.
